Back in Boston

Wow it's great to be home. After two weeks on the road(my grandfather's funeral in England and a client event in Baltimore), and having that hacking cough the whole time which seems to be going around, it's nice to be getting back to the familiar. I certainly feel bad for you road warriors out there....

I've never been on such a short trip to England before(5 days) so I had to smush the things I usually like to do(go to a Coventry City match, have a steak and kidney pie and chips, visit relatives and friends, etc) into a short amount of time, while being around my relatives in a time of sorrow, but not in the way. My mother gave the eulogy for her father, and my sister sang(she has her own acting company) which drew tears from most, me included. I often pinch myself to remember how important family ties are, when we all pull together in such a fashion.

I had never spent much time in Baltimore before other than driving through on my way from/to DC and in a way I can see why. Like Chicago, it has some very cool architecture, but the downtown seems like it's taken the foot off the pedal. The waterfront has some neat places to eat, and I don't need to eat crab for awhile. I imagine the sunny summer is a big difference from dreary November. I was impressed with the number of people who wore Orioles clothing-weren't they last in the division?

Chime in Baltimoreans, I must be missing something......
